Junio: Una de la sesión con Nayara

De todas las fotos de la sesión de retrato creativo con la pequeña Nayara haciendo de modelo, esta que os enseño aquí es una de mis preferidas. Desde mi punto de vista como artista, esta imagen es la más…La pose, la expresión, los colores, la escena – La combinación de todos estos factores hace que sea una foto con encanto.

June: One from the shoot with Nayara

Of all the photos I took during the creative portrait shoot with Nayara, the image shown here is one of my favourites. As an artist, this picture has just the right combination of pose, expression, setting and colours to give it that something special. Here, Nayara is my little indian.

Mayo: Las Rotas desde La Cova Tallada

Me ha resultado muy difícil elegir una sola foto esta vez. Entre todas las nocturnas y los varios retratos que hice durante el mes de Mayo, al final me he quedado con esta – Más que nada por los colores y tonos que tiene, además de ser una perspectiva poca vista en mi opinión.

May: Las Rotas from the cave

I took so many photos during May, what with the night session and the various portraits that I did, that it’s been a difficult choice this month. After much thought I finally went with the picture you see above, mostly down to its colours and unusual tones. It’s also quite a unique view of that area, especially as it was taken at night.

Uno de mis propósitos del año pasado era de elegir mi mejor foto de cada mes y subirla aquí al blog. Este proyecto personal lo llamaba ’12 x 2014′ y he decidido hacer lo mismo este año – Así me empujo a mejorar y superarme como fotógrafa.

Muchos creativos hacen un proyecto 365 (subir una imagen cada día durante un año), pero yo no llego a hacer tanto! Mi día a día me reclame demasiado aún – Tal vez el año que viene… ;-)

De ahí que empezamos con la mejor foto del mes de Enero …

Enero: First Night Session 2015

He elegido esta foto dado que ha sido fruto no solamente de la primera sesión del año, sino también de la primera sesión NOCTURNA y que me divertí muchísimo en crearla.

One of my resolutions from last year was to choose my best image from each month and post them here on my blog. This personal project was christened ’12 x 2014′ and as I found it a useful ploy to dedicate more time to photography and to keep bettering myself as a photographer, I have decided to do the same thing this year.

Many artists do a 365 project but unfortunately, daily life needs to loosen its grip on me first before I can do that – Maybe next year ;-)

Let’s get the ball rolling by starting off with my favourite image from January …

January: First Night Session 2015

I have chosen this photo as it was not only the result of my first session of 2015, but also it was taken during the first NIGHT session as well. That coupled with the fact that I enjoyed myself immensely creating it, made this picture a winner for me.

First Night Session of 2015

Bienvenid@s a la primera publicación del año: Una sesión nocturna a unos pocos kilómetros de casa, que tuvo lugar el día 2 de Enero.

Quedamos mi compi, Eva en Pruebas y yo justamente antes del anochecer y estuvimos allí hasta las 20:30h mas o menos. (Hacía un poco de frío…)

Aquí os dejo los resultados:

Welcome to the first post of 2015: A night session not too far from home which took place on January 2nd.

I met up with fellow photographer and friend, Eva en Pruebas, just before sun down and we were all finished by 8.30pm. (It was a little cold…)

Here are the results: 

Equipo: 1x Nikon D300, 1x Flash SB800 montado por separado, 2x disparadores inalámbricos, 1x tripode, 1x pequeña linterna halógena y 1x linterna halógena/LED de 180 lúmenes.
Equipment: 1x Nikon D300, 1x Flash SB800 set up remotely, 2x wireless trigger/flash releases, 1x tripod, 1x small halogen torch and 1x 180 lm  halogen/LED spotlight.

A pesar de estar rodeada de verde, esta estructura parece ser de ‘Tatooine’, el planeta de Luke Skywalker…¡Y mira que la tengo a 15 minutos de casa!

Regardless of the grass you can see, when I first saw this structure the planet Tatooine from the Star Wars saga sprang to mind – Only it’s a lot closer to home!

Nocturna 6

Por fin estoy al día con el tema del reto de elegir mi mejor foto de cada mes. De todas las que hice en agosto, elijo ésta de la quedada ‘fotografía nocturna 2’. El árbol aquí me trae recuerdos a la película ‘Avatar’, sobre todo con la luz amarilla emanando desde su centro.

I am finally up-to-date with my self-inflicted challenge of choosing the best image I take from each month. Out of all of the photos that I took in August, I choose this one from ‘night photography 2’. The tree reminds me of the one from the film ‘Avatar’, especially with the yellow light glowing from it’s centre.
