One of the most frequently asked questions about maternity sessions is whether they can be done as a couple or family. The answer is yes, of course… I love it when partners and siblings get involved in the photos.
Another great family it was lovely to see again this summer for a min family photo session in the grounds of their holiday home. I can’t believe how much the boys have grown since the last time I saw them!
Ha sido fantástico ver de nuevo a esta preciosa familia para su sesión fotográfica en el jardín de su chalet. ¡Cómo han crecido los peques desde la última vez que nos vimos!
So all this downtime means there’s no escaping finally doing all those little things on my to do list…Luckily, I still have some gorgeous shots from previous photo shoots to look at and share. Just like here with this fab couple – First time parents (photo session newbies as well!) taken the week after the last lot of storms. THIS SHOOT WAS JUST SO MUCH FUN! Congrats on the birth of your little one!

I just can’t believe it! I first met this fantastic family when they were expecting their first born…Fast forward 3 years and here I am again capturing baby bump number 2! Doesn’t Time fly!!
¡No me lo puedo creer! Conocí a esta fantástica familia por primera vez cuando esperaban a su primogénito … ¡¡Pasan 3 años en un santiamén y aquí estoy capturando su segundo embarazo!! ¡Es increíble como pasa el tiempoooooooo!
I’ve walked past this 1,000 year old Olive tree so many times over the years, just itching to incorporate it into a stunning photo shoot, yet knowing that I had to wait for the right kind of client to come along. Then low and behold I get to do not 1 but 2 sessions there in a month!!!
Here’s how gorgeous Mael and Alvaro’s session turned out. It was a bit cold and a bit muddy, but SO worth it!
A lo largo de los años cada vez que paso por delante de esta olivera milenaria me entran las ganas de hacer una sesión de fotos con ella de fondo. Pero claro, había que esperar hasta que me llegaran unos clientes que fueran capaces de entender mi visión creativa ¡Y vaya, en el mismo mes me llegan no una sino dos familias que han querido hacer sus sesiones allí! ¡Flipoooo!
Así de bonitas han salido las fotos de Mael y Álvaro, una preciosa pareja que esperan su primer bebé. Hacía fresquito y nos pusimos de barro como no veas, pero ha valido la pena, ¿a que sí?
Marta knew exactly what she wanted for her birthday this year – A Family Photo Shoot. But as with most modern day families, getting everyone together can sometimes be tougher than you think…But it’s SO worth it. In Marta’s case the window for doing the session was tight – Just one afternoon in September – But with a bit of effort from all involved (myself included!) the shoot came together beautifully.
Sometimes I worry. We live in such a fast paced world these days, rushing around with our mobiles glued to our ears, trying to do (at least) five things at once… Time, where did it go to?
“They grow so fast”… “The days are long, but the years are short”.
The phrases are cheesy, I know, and more than one of you will say that you snap photos of your family on your phone all the time. But in hiring a photographer you’re capturing details and moments in a way that a phone could never come close to.
Plus you’re capturing photos of you and your loved ones TOGETHER.
Time isn’t endless, moments we cherish will pass. But we’re lucky to have them.
And one day you will sit looking back through photos remembering it all…And know how truly lucky you’ve been.

Marta sabía exactamente lo que quería este año para su cumpleaños – Una sesión fotográfica en familia. Pero al igual que con la mayoría de las familias hoy en día, reunir a todos puede ser más difícil de lo que crees … Pero REALMENTE vale la pena. En el caso de Marta, el hueco para hacer la sesión fue solo una tarde de septiembre, pero con un poco de esfuerzo de todos (¡de mí también!), la sesión salió redonda.
A veces me preocupo. Vivimos en un mundo tan acelerado, yendo a 200 por hora con el móvil pegado al oído, tratando de hacer (por lo menos) cinco cosas a la vez … El tiempo pasa cada vez más rápido, verdad?
“Crecen tan rápido” … “Los días son largos, pero los años son cortos”.
Las frases son cursis, lo sé, y más de uno dirá que no les importa eso, que están siempre sacando fotos de su familia con el móvil para recordar de los buenos momentos. Pero hay que darse cuenta que al contratar a un fotógrafo, están capturando detalles y momentos de manera completamente distinta (y mejor) que con un móvil?
Además, están capturando fotos de vosotros mismos y sus seres queridos JUNTOS.
El tiempo no es interminable, los momentos que apreciamos pasarán al olvido.
Pero un día te aseguro que te sentarás y mirarás las fotos de aquella sesión que contrataste y te conectarás de nuevo con los buenos momento que creaste junto con tu familia… Y sabrás lo afortunado que eres.
Marta es una de las afortunadas.
We met Christine eariler on in the year at one of Dee’s fabulous Make Up Demos and we soon got chating. As the conversation progressed it transpired that she and husband, Alan, had got married last year, however with all the planning that comes with organizing a wedding, Christine admitted that professional photography and make up hadn’t been very high up on their list of priorities – Something which she later regretted.
So as their first wedding anniversary appoached, Christine decided she wanted to celebrate it in style and arranged a suprise weekend away at The House at Tormos, along with a ‘This is me’ Make Up and Photo Session with Dee and myself. ‘Poor’ Alan didn’t know anything about the photo shoot until he saw Christine unpack their wedding outfits! After recovering from his initial shock, he soon got in to the swing of things.

Conocimos a Christine hace unos meses en uno de los fabulosos talleres de maquillaje de Dee y en seguida nos pusimos a charlar. Durante la conversación nos contó que ella y su esposo, Alan, se habían casado el año anterior pero con toda la planificación que conlleva organizar una boda, admitió que en aquel momento la fotografía y el maquillaje profesional no ocuparon un lugar destacado en su lista de prioridades – Algo de lo que luego se arrepintió.
Así que cuando se acercó su primer aniversario de bodas, Christine decidió que quería hacer algo especial para celebrarlo y organizó un fin de semana sorpresa en la casa rural, The House at Tormos, junto con una de nuestras sesiones de maquillaje y fotos. Su pobre esposo no sabía nada sobre la sesión fotográfica hasta que vio a Christine sacar los trajes de boda de la maleta. Después de recuperarse de su shock inicial, se relajó y disfrutó de la sesión.

Poco a poco estoy poniéndome al día con todas las hermosas sesiones que tengo por enseñar – Y el reportaje que os voy a mostrar hoy es precioso!
